About Greg

Dr. Greg Shim, D.Ac., M.Ed., L.Ac. has been a licensed acupuncturist since 2003 when he graduated from Five Branches University. He has been practicing in Castle Rock since 2004. Greg received his Doctor in Acupuncture in 2024 as there were no doctoral programs back in 1999 when he formally started studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Greg’s education and experience includes working with sports injuries, TCM pediatrics, and TCM family medicine. His doctoral program focused on women’s health, fertility, and TCM oncology. For the last 25 years, his focus in life as been TCM and he sees himself as a lifelong learner. Before TCM school, he taught Montessori preschool for 10 years where the motto of education was, “Follow the child.” He’s taken that philosophy and applied it to medicine where he strives to, “Follow the patient.”

Greg utilizes a number of therapies to develop the best treatments for his patients including, acupuncture, functional cupping, movement, diet, herbs, tok sen, fire needles, Tuina, breathwork, microneedling, and fire cupping.

When he’s not in the clinic, Greg enjoys gardening, mycology, foraging, woodworking, and creating delicious meals for his wife.
